WM Mag – Today, what is your biggest motivation in the world of photography?
I’ve always been fascinated by the way images could tell stories and capture moments in time. My biggest motivation today is to keep evolving as a photographer and challenge myself often to keep learning and improving my skills.
WM Mag – What are your strengths as a professional?
Patience & Adaptability. There are days when things don’t go as planned, even with the best preparation— bad lighting, difficult subjects, changes in venue, etc. Possessing a great deal of patience is an invaluable trait in photography. Possessing this sort of calmness and the ability to adapt to my setting allow me to work with demanding customers, models, crying babies, insufficient lighting, or whatever the unexpected may bring is one of my greatest strengths.
WM Mag – What types of activities give you the most energy and enthusiasm?
Whether it’s a new lighting technique or a genre I don’t normally shoot, challenging myself to try and learn new things always excite me.

WM Mag – What is your background and how did you get started in photography?
Since I was a child, I’ve always been drawn to capturing moments through a camera or sketchpad. Using my imagination and coming up with fresh, new ideas has always been a part of who I am. After much soul searching and deliberation, I made the decision to leave my corporate job and pursue photography full time. I started shooting family portraits and have extended my range to commercial and fashion.
WM Mag – What makes your work different? Any special moments you would like to highlight?
My approach. While a shot list is important— going beyond the shot list helps me to create some unique magic.

WM Mag – Do you think you are or are you on the path to having your own aesthetic, difficult to confuse?
Yes. My work can be described as clean and crisp.
WM Mag – Are your images more portraits, cityscapes or social and corporate photos? What changes in terms of the perspective of those who see your work?
I photograph mainly portraits- whether it’s a wedding or a model for an editorial. I truly enjoy working with people and bringing out the best in a person through the camera.
WM Mag – Who inspires you? Why?
I’m inspired by the daily beauty of life— from finding a small patch of sunlight that hits a subject just right to seeing authentic moments amongst others.
WM Mag – How does the advancement of technology impact the quality of photography?
I’m constantly challenging myself to evolve as a photographer. There are so many new advancements in camera equipment and in the editing process. While new advancements— such as cell phone cameras— have made photography something for “everyone”, the uniqueness of each individuals perspective remains unchanged.

WM Mag – What are the next projects planned or already underway?
Fall is the busiest time for family portraits. There’s something very special about photographing some of the same families year after year and watching how they’ve grown.
WM Mag – What is your creation process like today? How do you define the subjects you will photograph?
I have so many ideas that come to mind! I love to brainstorm with my clients to truly understand how I can incorporate my perspective with their vision.
